I made my first ever purchase of Argentine wine in the U.S. today. I swung by the state-run wine and spirits store over on Baltimore Pike in Springfield, PA and bought Trapiche Broquel 2004 Malbec and a Trapiche 2005 Chardonnay. I was expecting a bigger selection, especially since it was quite a large store, but their selection of Argentine wine was mediocre at best. Tomorrow night I should be sharing one of these bottles with a certain Valentine, so I’ll let you know how Mendoza tastes in snowy Swarthmore, PA.
Hoy compré mi primera botella de vino argentino en los EE.UU. Fui al negocios de vino y licores en la Avenida Baltimore en Springfield, Pennsylvania y compré el Trapiche Broquel 2004 Malbec y una Trapiche 2005 Chardonnay. Tenía expectativas una selección más amplia, especialmente porque hubo un negocio bastante grande, pero su selección de vino argentino fue al mejor mediocre. En Pennsylvania, los supermercados no están permitidos a vender vino, licor, o cerveza. Hay negocios que sólo venden cerveza y hay negocios que venden licor y vino juntos. Todo está manejado por el estado.
Mañana a la noche debería compartiendo unas de estas botellas con una cierta Valentina, así que les contaré cual es el sabor de Mendoza en Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.
