Hail / Granizo

One of the biggest threats to the grape harvest every year is hail. The provincial government uses some of the most advanced technology in the world to prevent the hail which can destroy a large percentage of the harvest. The provincial government actually pays for planes to fly over potential hail-storm clouds in order to release a chemical that is proven to break-up the hail forming in the cloud. Unfortunately, La Nacion is reporting that hail fell in the San Rafael region for 25 minutes that was the size of a fist. San Rafael is typically the region that is most affected by hail. El granizo es unos de las amenazas más importantes a la cosecha de uvas. El gobierno provincial utiliza unos de las tecnologías más avanzadas en el mundo para prevenir contra el granizo que puede destruir un porcentaje grande de la cosecha.
