Some quick facts / Algunos hechos interesantes

Update: So I just wrote this post without reading the rest of the South American Wine Blog, where I see Pablo has posted a part of my “healthy wines” post from yesterday. That’s quite a coincidence!

Actualización: Bueno, acabo de escribir el siguiente y después leí más del blog del South American Wine Group, donde me di cuente que Pablo puso algo de mi post sobre los vinos saludables de Mendoza que escribí ayer. ¡Les juro que no planeamos nada! ¡Que casualidad!

Pablo over at the South American Wine Group blog reminds us of some pretty cool stuff. He writes in Spanish, so I thought I’d translate some of the highlights.

- “Argentina is the fifth largest producer of wine in the world.”
- “Argentina is the third largest wine consumer in the world.” Sidenote: I’ve reported on this blog that Argentina is actually the sixth biggest wine consumer, per capita, in the world. According to a report I was given at the Economic Ministry, Argentina is ranked, per capita, behind (in order) Luxembourg, France, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland. Hmm, I wonder if we can resolve this.

Pablo also adds, “Argentina is the only country in the world where you can find monkeys in the jungles of the northeast to penguins in Patagonia.” Thanks Pablo!

El blog del South American Wine Group escrito por Pablo nos hace recordar de algunos hechos interesantes. Algunos de las cosas que se destacaron:

- “Argentina es el quinto productor mundial de vinos.”
- “Argentina es el tercer consumidor mundial per capita de vinos (41 litros anuales per capita vs 7 litros anuales per capita en Estados Unidos).” (He publicado en este blog que la Argentina se ubica en el sexto lugar de consumidores de vino en el mundo, per capita. Según un informe que encontré en el Ministerio de Economía, la lista pareció así: Luxemburgo, Francia, Italia, Portugal, y Suiza. ¿Supongo que podemos resolver la diferencia?)

Pablo añade, “Argentina es el único lugar en el mundo donde uno puede encontrar desde monos, en las selvas del noroeste, hasta pingüinos, en la Patagonia.” ¡Gracias Pablo!
